Lucinda Leveille
Since childhood, my dream has always been clear: to become an artist. Inspired by my father, who nurtured my creativity and taught me to see the world through an artist’s eye, I began painting at a very young age. At just 15, I was accepted into the prestigious National Art School (formerly East Sydney Tech) — an extraordinary opportunity that allowed me to immerse myself in art, technique and creative theory for five years. After graduating, my family relocated to the Gold Coast and I began exhibiting my work. But in those early days, a harsh rejection from a gallery owner shook my confidence and caused me to step away from my art for many years. I drifted between jobs that left me unfulfilled, but the dream of becoming an artist never truly left me. Eventually, with the encouragement of friends and loved ones, I returned to painting. This time I approached it with resilience, maturity and a deeper sense of purpose. That decision changed everything.
Today, I work as a full-time Australian artist based in Queensland, creating original oil paintings and landscape art that explore the beauty of nature, light and movement. My practice is prolific — I often paint from dawn until evening — and I treat each canvas as a chance to capture fleeting moments of calm, wonder, and connection. My focus is on landscapes, skies, trees and clouds, though I continually experiment with mark-making, abstraction and drawing to bring spontaneity and vitality into my work. Oil paint remains my preferred medium, offering depth softness, and an emotional resonance that suits the themes I explore. I also create smaller watercolour artworks as part of my Collectors Secret collection. These pieces are intimate, affordable and perfect for gifting — each one beautifully gift-wrapped, making them a meaningful keepsake or a starting point for new collectors.

Beneath the Heavy Sky captures an atmosphere that is at once haunting and beautiful, immersing the viewer in a landscape where contrasts dominate. At first glance, the composition is striking: a broad expanse of dark, almost suffocating clouds spreads across the upper half of the canvas, descending heavily upon the land below. Yet beneath this brooding sky, bursts of vibrant red foliage emerge, painted with precision and vividness, standing out against the muted background. The balance between darkness and brightness, despair and vitality, creates a narrative that feels deeply human and timeless.

In creating Shades Of Wattle, I immersed myself in the colours that define this place—the silvery greens of the leaves, the deep russet bark, the way sunlight transforms and dances across its surface. The painting is not only about a tree, but about the atmosphere surrounding it, the sense of stillness and renewal that comes from being near it. My hope is that the work allows others to experience even a fragment of that feeling, no matter where it may hang.

Awakening The Darkening Sky sits within the quiet tension of a moment before weather breaks, a moment that is familiar in the Australian landscape, yet endlessly shifting in its emotional tone. A heavy sky gathers above the open ground, and the light across the hills has begun to dim and thicken, as though the land is holding its breath in anticipation. The faint track that winds upward through the slope is the only suggestion of movement, drawing the eye gently toward the distance and the possibility of change. In this work, the track becomes less a literal path and more an echo of presence, a trace of where someone has passed through or may return to again. It invites the viewer to step into the scene without insisting on it, leaving room for interpretation and memory.

A soft road winds through pale fields and hills beneath a sky shifting gently from light into storm. The horizon holds a quiet weight, the air still but charged, a moment suspended before weather changes direction. This landscape reflects the calm that arrives before clarity — a place where distance softens and the world seems to hold its breath.

Held in the Glow is an original oil painting capturing the warm intensity of a late outback sky, where light shifts into deep gold and the land holds a quiet, steady breath. A single tree stands in the heat, grounded and resilient, while soft yellow clouds gather above it. This work reflects my ongoing exploration of stillness, distance, and the quiet thresholds that happen between day and dusk. I am drawn to these moments when the landscape feels suspended, waiting, listening, and full of its own quiet power.

Night Sensations is inspired by the evocative verses from The Phantom of the Opera. Dominated by soft shades of deep teal and rich indigo, the composition is alive with swirling clouds that seem to dance in the twilight sky. The clouds are layered and textured, creating a sense of depth and movement; some areas are wispy and ephemeral, while others are bold and billowing, exemplifying the way night unfurls its splendor.
Framing this enchanting scene is a beautifully crafted oak floating frame, its warm wood contrasting beautifully with the cooler tones of the painting.

Blue Dusk is a painting I created as part of the “Songs Of The Sea” series, which holds a special place in my heart. In this piece, I aimed to capture that serene and almost magical silence that envelops the beach at dusk. It’s a moment when the waves have quieted, and even the sand seems still, with barely a ripple on its surface. As I painted, I felt the blue hues wrapping around me, inviting moments of deep self-reflection and tranquility.
You’ll notice that each of my paintings, including “Blue Dusk,” is signed on the front with my name, Lucinda, and every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
My paintings are created on gallery-style stretched canvas, which means they don’t require framing and the colour continues around the edges. They are ready to hang right out of the box.
When you receive your artwork, it will be carefully cocooned in bubble wrap and packed in a sturdy cardboard container to ensure it arrives safely at your home.

The Softest Warning – a winding track cuts through pale, sun-faded grasses, as a deep teal sky builds above the land. The light holds in the distance, soft against the coming weight of the storm. This painting rests in the moment just before weather shifts, when the landscape feels suspended and the world is caught between calm and change. It follows my ongoing exploration of stillness, distance and the quiet tension held in the open Australian plains.
The track has been travelled so many times it no longer leads anywhere in particular. It simply wanders with the land, folding into the gentle rise of the grasses and disappearing again as the sky presses lower. On this day the air held still, as if the world was thinking. A storm moved in slowly, gathering its colour in the distance, but the land didn’t rush to meet it. It waited, listening to the soft wind through the dry stems, letting the moment stretch. There was nothing to do but walk, breathe, and watch the weather drift towards you. Some days the sky feels close enough to touch; other days it feels like it might swallow the horizon whole. This painting lives in that in-between place, where time pauses and the road becomes the only certain thing ahead.

What the Rain Left Behind is a painting about the quiet that settles over the land after heavy weather has passed. It captures a moment that is familiar in the Australian landscape, when the storm has already moved on but the earth is still soaked and remembering. The sky in this work holds the last traces of the downpour in its heavy blue-grey forms, while the horizon begins to lighten, offering a sense of release rather than drama. The land below is reduced to simple planes of tone and colour, warm ochres and softened browns that suggest wet soil, glistening patches and low lying areas still holding water. Nothing is overstated. The sense of aftermath is carried through restraint rather than description.

The Tide Falls Silent sits in that gentle moment after stormy weather has passed, when the sky begins to loosen its hold and the land no longer braces against it. The sea, once restless, returns to a quieter rhythm, breathing softly as it reaches the shore, touching the sand with a tenderness that feels almost like a whisper.
There is a sense here of something easing, of weight lifting, of the world settling back into itself. The clouds still carry the memory of what has been, but the light has begun to find its way through, softening the edges of everything it touches.
It is a familiar feeling in the landscape — that quiet after the storm, where nothing more is happening, yet everything feels held, present and gently at rest, as the tide falls silent and the world breathes again.

Silent Runes is an atmospheric oil painting inspired by the way tide and weather leave their marks on the landscape. Shallow water moving across rock holds traces of pattern and rhythm, shaped slowly by repetition rather than force. These marks are neither decorative nor fixed, but the result of ongoing movement, erosion and return.
Beyond the water’s surface, the broader terrain carries the quieter imprint of passing weather and time. Subtle shifts in tone and texture suggest land that has absorbed wind, tide and rain over long periods, holding memory without narrative. The composition resists a single focal point, allowing the eye to drift and settle, much like the landscape itself.
This original painting comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
