Back in High Country Victoria. This time the painting is abstract impressions of the areas heading towards Mount Buffalo. The sky is darkening as a storm approaches. There is a time when the last light is brightly channelled, highlighting the hills, valleys and trees. The painting is an impression of the area rather than an actual place and uses broad colourful brush strokes to give movement and definition.

The love of our land and its many amazing natural forms has been my inspiration once again. The rocks have loads of texture and there are never ending shapes in that texture. The red rocks and surrounds contain the past pathways and fossils that tell a unique story. This painting represents the heart of life. Although not large, the painting packs a punch of colour.

The Daintree River and forest are places to walk and wonder. The river, the hills and valleys are alive with the beauty and energy of an environment that we are in danger of losing. This painting is a textured abstract view of my impressions of the beautiful clear, ever moving waters and monolithic rocks forming the ebb and flow of the river. It is also an expression of how I feel about this amazing country. This painting now has the movement that represents the ever changing nature of the land.

Bayside Melbourne has many great walks. One favourite is the stretch from Sandy to Black Rock, taking in the cliffs of Half Moon Bay. This is the next in this series of clifftop paintings, this time capturing that bright light that illuminates the shoreline as the sun is overtaken by a storm moving in. The tips of the leaves and foliage seem larger than life as they toss in the wind and reflect the last of the sun.
