  • Caloundra is a place I visit fairly regularly. Bullcock Beach is facing the top end of Bribie Island and is well known as a safe beach for young kids. I like the juxtaposition of beach, water, trees and man-made structures that make it an interesting place to look at.

  • When I come to a path to the beach it always starts a level of anticipation in me for what lies at the end. This path seemed to be drawing me in to get to the beach and the enjoyment that would happen there.

  • On a trip to Killarney, at the edge of the Darling Downs, I noticed a hill that was bathed in magnificent afternoon light. This painting is my attempt to capture this.

  • I spotted a small boat coming towards port in the early evening. I was stuck by the purposeful motion of the boat moving across the choppy surface of the ocean.

  • The artwork depicts a track in the mountains near Springbrook. I was inspired by the calming effect that the scene had on me after what had been a really hectic week.

  • I arrived at the beach to see people lying on the beach, sunshine and waves rolling in past the headland. However, above the headland I could see dark clouds forming. So possibly the perfect beach day might be interrupted by rain.
