Ship of Murmurs is part 1 of 4 of my abstract series "A Boat Time".
As the Ship of Murmurs floats about almost undetectably in the distant horizon, there is much happening around it. But what story does it tell you? Is the ship arriving, leaving, or not moving at all?
Designed to uplift a room with bright, cheerful colours and create a talking point with the story that you see within the painting.Artwork comes framed and ready to hang with wire on the back.

The Lovers' Row is part 2 of 4 of my abstract series "A Boat Time".
As the two lovers quarrel on a row boat, the turmoil is displayed in the atmosphere around them. The weather in the sky on both sides encroach on the lovers as they idle in the only seemingly clear section. The symbols and shapes in the water represent the feelings and points of view of each lover. Yet the bright colours symbolise hope and their passion for one another, despite their current row.Designed to uplift a room with bright, bold colours and create a talking point with the story that you see within the painting.

Worlds of Separation is part 2 of 4 of my "Dream State" Series. As often depicted in a dream, many storylines can occur at once. Some may see one world with colour surrounding the edges symbolising a haze of a dream, while others will see multiple worlds and stories happening on the canvas. All worlds connected and disconnected in the same expression - connected by proximity and colour, yet disconnected by strokes of paint and misalignment. As all of our worlds often are.

Welcome to Midnight Fires.
An outback desert inspired abstract piece that depicts camping under the stars and moon in the midnight skies, with campfires and wafting smoke. You can almost hear the crackling of the campfire, and feel the cold midnight air as you indulge in the still of night.

In the top right corner, we can see an empty throne next to a large sword. This is symbolising emerging from one’s position of standing, but leaving the battle behind - we do not need to fight to hold ourselves high. From this step, new light and new growth appear - shown in the slivers of yellow light on the horizons and bright reflections on the lake, and in the beginning of new grass shoots and plants. Showing that past reflections don’t have to always be dark and from them we can find new light and grow. A figure floats to represent the ghost of our past. Yet again, it is coloured in mostly yellow, showing that our past selves can also be a positive light to our future selves. With a little hint of pink on their shoulder, showing that while we cannot shake our scars, we don’t have to hide them.
But what story does it tell you?

In the bottom right hand corner there is a figure standing and looking out to the scene in front, with their shadow casting forward - as if a symbol for foreshadowing the path they are currently on. As they look on, they witness destruction before finally bringing about peace. They observe their tent resting on poor foundations with a tidal wave imminent. Symbolic of poor choices made forcing us to cleanse, start fresh and rebuild. Another figure is on the bottom left, collapsed to their knees as they witness fires, yet they themselves are being covered in rain. Symbolising how we often have the solution to our problems, but rather than helping ourselves, we metaphorically tie our hands behinds our backs and just watch it unfold instead.
Yet if we look beyond and above this destruction, we can see the return to beauty with mountains, sunshine, running streams and waterfalls, a peaceful scene.Ultimately, this piece is designed to highlight that sometimes we need to break down what we think we know, or what we have built around us, in order to find the true peace within.
But what story is it telling you?

The darkened moon looms ominously in the top right hand corner of the painting. There is a bright side hiding, hence the streak of light on the moon, however what is dominating the moon is the dark. A representation of our inner darkness. Yet when we look further onto the painting, there is still plenty of bright yellow in contrast. Tall yellow plants have grown and are shining. A bright yellow figure wanders the fields on stable ground in the bottom left corner, seemingly small compared to the rest, but in fact it connects to the tallest plant in the field. Showing that what we initially perceive is not always the reality, and no matter how much we shrink ourselves, we still have the potential to be great.
It shows that not all that is under shadow is dark. That even when on the dark side of the moon, our own internal light can still exist.
But what do you see?

The duel begins. A figure in the top third of the painting wearing a yellow cowboy hat moves into position, holding arms up to their opponent in the distance. However, when we look at where the armed figure is aiming, there appears to be no opponent. A fire lit within, hence the struck match and flame on the left hand side of the painting. Yet nothing to burn.
Two grey figures sit around a campfire in the bottom right corner surrounded by grassy scrub. One is holding an unlit match and the other empty handed. Showing how one is ready for battle, yet the other remains calm and unarmed despite the threat of tension. The two figures are separated by a shepherd’s staff - symbolising guidance is at hand.
In the centre of it all is a large question mark - who is this figure really fighting? Why must it be settled this way?
Many stories can be told - what does it tell you?

A coastal inspired artwork of the freeing feeling of days at the beach with clear skies, and various activities.
In the lower third of the painting, there are ocean waves rising and falling, creating movement and energy. There is an orange figure in the middle third of the painting wakeboarding across the water, their hair swept straight back by the wind, letting loose and being free. In the upper third of the painting, there is a coast line, where two orange figures in the left corner appear to be casually strolling along the wet sand of the shore, while a distant boat, full of people, floats in the calm ocean waters.
A happy, unbound and calming scene. But what do you see?

Moody skies, windy days and the lone flower on top of the hill. Cast with the same dye as its surroundings, the flower stands tall against all odds. A strand of hope in amongst all that tries to change it.
A piece to remind us of the importance of holding strong and being the hope you need.

This erupting volcano is an explosion of colour and vibrance. Confetti and streamer style lava and steam fill the sky, as the only real danger here is how much you’ll fall in love with this painting.
Iridescence in the paint blooms as the suns rays cast across the surface, giving you a unique look on each angle. It’s happy, it’s bright and it is eye-catching!

The golden figure towards the middle appears to be crouching on the edge, ready to do a backflip, as if diving off a diving board backwards into unknown waters.
Rather than seeing for themself what they are entering, they are leaving it to fate as to what they will encounter. Bold, brave and risky, but in this case it is worth the chance. In the background you can see lighter wispy edged shapes. These are intended to add depth and a sense of motion, as well as adding softer elements to the background.

Moments in time captured at the beach. Water sports on the horizon with rippled ocean waves, and sandy shorelines in the foreground.
In the foreground we see the rush of the white wash over the sand, followed by the drawing back exposing the water-carved streaks channelled into the drenched shoreline. A momentary memory sculpted into the earth, before the next rush redesigns the sandy floor.

Reminiscent of peaceful days out in the country with the tanned landscapes, pink skies and the grey tinged afternoon clouds always making you question if it is just enough for rain or not.
This particular piece has a fine grainy texture to the clouds and landscape to enhance the feel of the typical dry nature of the outback

Welcome to Shielded.
In the bottom right quadrant of the painting, there is a figure holding an orange shield. However the complexity of this is that depending on how you look at it, the figure is either holding a shield to the viewer, or holding a shield to the serpent. A reflection of what scares us most. Our inner demons, or external dangers.
Below the shielded figure in the bottom right hand corner, we can see a landscape of the setting sun over the ocean with pink and yellow clouds, as if representing time escaping on the ground we stand on - or more to the point - the principles we may stand on.
To the left, there is an opening to another land, as if showing us there is another way if we dare to choose it.
