A long weekend away - who doesn't love one? Especially on the water, basking on warm sand, wandering the coastline and exploring rugged headlands. This pretty little beachscape has me craving long weekends away where I can do just that. Cooling off in aqua blue sea under balmy skies, I take pause watching little sail boats or windsurfers come and go, catching the sea breeze. The little inlets and coves offer shelter from winds when the afternoon southerly picks up, and a sanctuary in which to rest after a brisk ocean swim. I love a long weekend away. Hope you do too!NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality.

I'll be here a while...under a beautiful blue sky as clouds sweep across the horizon.
I'll be here a while...at the water's edge watching sailboats skim across the pretty aqua sea.
I'll be here a while...inhaling and exhaling the coastal breeze that carries away cares and brings calm.
As summer approaches, and days get longer, and the weather warmer, find me here, beachside. I'll be here a while.

‘Treasured’ is a tribute to those breathtaking moments in our environment, where nature’s colours meld with one another, like our memories so often do. Beautiful landscapes and views where what’s considered ‘ordinary’ by some are considered ‘extraordinary’ by others.
And so to, the hush before dusk, the embrace of a salty breeze, the reverence a seemingly simple coastline evokes. Some beauty is not meant to be explained, only felt. The little ordinary moments felt here often become those extraordinary moments to be treasured.

Precious holiday moments that mean so much; quiet contentment holding the hand of a child while exploring a secluded beach on a balmy afternoon. Other families near by doing the same. With picturesque scenery fringing secluded bays and inlets, fresh blue waters meeting sandy shoreline, these special moments of connection and protection are fleeting, but linger a lifetime in our hearts as our children grow.

Solitude - getting lost - but in a good way. Maybe it's the fresh blue sea, balmy summer sky, white sandy beaches, and lush canopied trees fringing the estuary and shoreline. Or maybe it's the feeling it evokes: quiet, secluded, tropical, warm, I want to get lost here. Time alone to just be. No distractions, just contentment and peace.
