Sharon Rynehart
Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. An interior designer and colour consultant now turned artist after health issues in 2018, she adores the word ‘heartwork’ (apart from the slight reference to her surname), as it describes her process perfectly. She uses her background in colour theory to create beautiful colour harmonies, painting emotive artworks from the heart that allow you to reflect on your own story, to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instil. Sharon creates artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm and bring you hope.
Living on the leafy outskirts of Canberra with views to the Brindabella ranges, and a protected nature reserve close by, Sharon is constantly inspired by trees and mountain ranges, beautiful sunsets and colour formations. The coast, however, is her absolute passion. With the NSW south coast not far down the road, influences emerge from the refracted light through the moody clouds and ocean waters, to the lush headlands and breezy shorelines, to the scenic roads, hills and valleys she travels to and from. These road trips to the coast, and back to her childhood home town of Wagga Wagga, are also a huge inspiration for her sought after roadscapes, often incorporating her signature pink road. Also highly sought after, are her figurative beachscapes that capture quiet moments alone or with loved ones on the sand.
Now widely collected both in Australia and overseas, Sharon has enjoyed recent success as a finalist in Art to Art’s 2025 Unearthed Art Prize. She’s been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s series The Block, and in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in Brisbane, a retail stockist in Melbourne, and considers it an absolute privilege to have her work sought after and sell consistently.
Sharon’s emotive artworks are a reminder to always look for light and hope, no matter the trails and challengers we face.

There's seasons when it's harder to see beauty and feel joy. When the world feels heavy with grief, noise, exhaustion and uncertainty. Somewhere, somehow, in amongst it all - even though it's harder to see - beauty and light still exists.
This piece is an invitation to look for those things. To choose light even though darkness threatens. To keep reaching for quiet when the world feels too loud.
To remember that joy is not something we just stumble on, it's a choice we make daily despite circumstance.
These bright pinks and luminous turquoise waters, interlaced with subtle shimmering gold, were painted as an act of defiance against despair. A reminder that light and beauty still exists - especially here at the coast.
A place where joy survives.
A place where happy lives.
A place for holding onto beautiful.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality.

A quiet exhale at what seems like the edge of existence. Where the early sunset sky washes over in a gentle warm embrace. Land and sea stretch open, offering refuge and sanctuary from the outside world.
A woman and her horse, small against vastness yet deeply and unmistakably held. Presence. Companionship. Assurance that neither carries any weight alone.
Where noise fades, where rest is invited, where healing begins.
This is where she comes, when the world asks too much, to lay it down in stillness, to be steadied by her majestic companion; loyal, known, and trusted.
This is her place.

A gentle retreat from the noise of the world, and a longing to find somewhere silent and still.
This is where the world goes quiet.
Here, where soft misty blues and earthy coastal tones evoke calm, reflection and rest.
It's where hearts stop racing, anxious minds settle, and the constant demands of life fall away.
Here is where we can pause awhile, breathe deeper, exhale louder, and let go of the weight of the world…
...it was never ours to carry.

This is the kind of day where you leave all your worries behind. The road whispers you to follow, and you do, because ahead is the beautiful coastline. Holidays. Time to unwind, relax, and bask in the warmth of summer sun. To remember what ease feels like; bare feet, salty hair, sand between toes, cool water on skin...where days are unhurried, unplanned, and contentment and joy don't need to shout to be felt, they gently lean in and say, “Just like this.”
This pretty coastscape invites you to finish your own story: to take the road through lush quiet countryside and remember happy holidays at the beach; the feelings evoked, the moments cherished, the fun experienced, and have you anticipating many more beautiful hope-filled days ahead...just like this.

Hand in hand, side by side. This new piece speaks to the quiet strength of togetherness. The kind that doesn't need to be loud or grand, only felt.
A strong and steady relationship that weathers change, evokes endurance, and gives grace.
A bond that strengthens us to face the unknown, and reminds us that whatever comes, and wherever life leads, we won't ever have to face it alone.

Inviting the heart to rest in what is calm, constant and unspoken, Still Whispers is a quiet moment capturing pauses and exhales, where the hazy coastline and soft sands encourage stillness, reflection and everything that is hurried becomes hushed.
This little atmospheric beachscape is a reminder that the peace we seek is not always loud or certain, but often found in the stillness and gentle echoes that whisper gently deep within, “It's ok to let go here.”

I can't help but exhale here. There's something almost sacred about the coastline after a storm has passed over, when the usually warm beach sand is cool underfoot and the beach is empty, but for yourselves. The rain has washed away the debris of all that came before and everything feels fresh and made new. There's a solace and comfort in that like no other.
Words can't often explain it; it's a feeling, an emotion evoked, a connection with who you're with, a presence that gently whispers to a troubled and weary soul, 'it's ok, it's ok to let go here.’
Here, I can't help but exhale.

What the Heart Sees reflects a fleeting moment at sunset, as the warmth of the sun's sinking rays casts a radiant glow over all it touches below. Here, where the land and waters meet, the heart softens, the mind rests, outside noise is hushed. Nothing is demanded or expected here except to simply bask in the wonder and beauty of nature...and let the heart feel and see what it needs to.
In simply being present - opening our hearts to quiet moments often taken for granted - we can let go of any frustrations and challenges that seek to overwhelm. In doing so we can be reminded that renewal and hope come not through striving, but in acceptance and contentment of what already is, and receiving it in gratitude.

This moody seascape explores the quiet strength found in surrender; crashing waves collide with unyielding rock, capturing a moment suspended between turmoil and release.
The coastline, heavy with the aftermath of a storm, is a metaphor for emotional overwhelm and restless, chaotic. Yet within this intensity lies a deeper truth. The rocks do not resist the waves, they endure them. The water does not fight its nature, it moves, breaks and recedes.
In this exchange, there is no defeat. Only acceptance.
This emotive artwork reflects the courage it takes to acknowledge struggle rather than suppress it. To surrender, not as an act of giving up, but as an act of trust. Trusting that by facing the storm, we allow darkness to pass over and light to re-emerge.
Here, there is strength in surrender.NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. With its threatening sky and tempest sea crashing against rocky rugged headlands, this is not a shoreline many would associate with as 'comforting'. The weight of the ominous storm hangs low, yet here, I find solace.
The turbulence does not threaten, it gathers, holds and releases. What appears fierce becomes my refuge. Here, there is space, space to lay down my heavy burdens, to exhale what has been tightly held, and to let the waves wash away the pain and turmoil.
Here, in the meeting of storm, sea and shore, I feel the weight lift, tensions ease and in its place, I find comfort for a heavy heart.I hope it brings comfort for you as it does me.

A place where the weight we carry is lifted away with the breeze. Where the waves and tide don't just wash away sand, but also the ache from our hearts.
Here, time is not rushed.
The blushed pink sky and rain-scattered greys evoke a held breath finally released. Hope here is not in grand gestures, but in the hush and solace between waves meeting the shoreline and light breaking through the clouds. Distractions fall away and what's left is the stillness and calm we seek within.
This is where I go to let go. Some place like this.

Held Close is less about a landscape and more about a feeling...the kind that settles quietly, deep within and lingers.
Rose pink sweeps across the sky like a tender embrace, carrying the warmth of closeness, gentle breath, and moments that feel too precious to rush.
The landscape both vast and rugged, the skyline both breathtaking and soothing...layered movements that evoke resilience and strength.
The quiet waters evoke calm but are ever-shifting, just like our emotions often are…changing with time and through lived experience.
Held Close speaks to the courage it takes to remain hopeful; to allow change, to give grace, to love deeply, and to trust in new beginnings.

In need of quiet,
from the demands of life,
from the grit and grind,
from the outside world.
So I come here.
Here is where noise is hushed and where shadow and light meet.
Despite the mood, it's not frantic; the tempest deep waters find refuge here, and so do I.
Overcast skies threaten storms, but they bring comfort instead. Their purpose not to add weight, but to help release it.
Burdens gone. Pain eased. Voices silenced.
In need of quiet... and finding it here.

There's power in silence. In the unspoken. Our emotions often run deeper than actual words uttered out loud.
This artwork reflects that for me. It doesn't need to be explained. Just felt.
Strength in fragility.
Steadiness in movement.
A feeling of being held despite the vastness of sea, land and sky.
There's nothing demanded of you here except the invitation to be still a while.
To pause.
To ponder.
To reflect on what's been, what is, and what lies ahead.
Unspoken speaks volumes.

Sometimes you just need to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday routine and get outside into open spaces where you can be reminded of the simple joys in life.
Taking A Slower Pace evokes just this.
Travelling through lush hills and valleys, renewed strength and hope comes from the quiet and contentment in pretty coastlines, grazing horses, dappled trees, and roads that lift the weight of any burdens you carry. As the warm light lingers in sunset rays over countryside and hidden bays, you can too. Just be still a while here; pause, wonder, exhale, and take a slower pace.

There are seasons in life that leave their scars, but Broken Can Still Be Beautiful is an invitation to see ourselves differently. To recognise that the scars don't diminish our worth. That disappointment, grief, pain, change, or loss may shape us - but not define us.
Like the fragile yet fierce shoreline that is endlessly reformed with each battering wave and tide, we too are continually being remade.
Beauty is not found in perfection. But found in courage. In showing up when life feels uncertain. In holding hope when the horizon seems blurred and distant. In trusting that even the fractured places can become a source of unexpected light and grace.
This textured and expressive artwork is a reminder then that strength is often quiet, healing is rarely lineal, and that broken things can still carry extraordinary beauty.
