The spider lilies are flowering in my garden and all around the area and I just had to paint one. I find them a very attractive flower and their lovely curves made a great composition. The black background serves to highlight the form of the petals and stamens. It would make a dramatic statement in a small area of the home. The painting is finished with three coats of archival varnish. It can be hung either way.

Boating up the Noosa River one scans the trees for these huge nests and, if lucky, one sees the kites guarding the nest and sometimes even a young kite being fed. It is an awesome sight and I hope this impression gives some of the feeling of awe that I feel on these trips.

These beautiful purple-crowned fairy-wrens were photographed on my travels in the outback. They are delightful little creatures flitting amongst the grasses. Will be a lovely piece of nature to add to your surroundings. Many glazes of soft colours used for a backdrop for these beauties.

The original was an award winning painting. This beautiful abstract flower has an ethereal feel to it and was inspired by some lovely hibiscus passed on my morning walk. It is a fine art limited edition print on quality canvas. The unusual patterns were formed with very high flowing acrylic.

This lovely seascape was inspired by the majestic White-bellied sea-eagle seen fishing at the waters edge. They can also be seen up the river guarding their nests and circling overhead looking for a meal. This is a very textured painting but a very calming one, with the beautiful blend of sea colours and the rich glowing colours of the huge wings of the eagle.

I love walking in forests early in the mornings and this is reminiscent of the dawn light through the trees. It is also a reminder of the aftermath of the bushfires which we, unfortunately, have in our bushland. It is full of hope that we can change the climate for the betterment of both people and nature.
This mixed media painting is on a cradled timber board with the sides painted to compliment the painting. It was painted with black paint to begin with, and then the oil and cold wax, pastels and charcoal was put over this with many different implements Then the trees were rubbed out from the topcoat. It is finished with a satin varnish but has a very soft look to the finished painting.

The beautiful magnolias are flowering and I can see them from my kitchen window. I just had to paint one, so I put lots of texture on my canvas, flowed some beautiful colours onto the surface, and worked them over the canvas until I was happy with the outcome. I then painted the lovely magnolia over the background leaving lots of texture to show through. The result is a very harmonious painting that would be very soothing in any room. The artwork is finished with three layers of archival varnish and is ready to hang.
THIS PAINTING IS PRESENTLY FOR SALE THROUGH POMONA RAILWAY GALLERY. If you would like more details, please contact me.

I spend a lot of time photographing birds in their natural environment and this painting was inspired by the little egrets fishing in the local pond which is full of waterlilies. I thought a Monet type of background would enhance the painting of the egret and give it a harmonious look. The background is painted with many layers of transparent colours and it was finished off with thicker paint for the egret. The painting is on a timber panel, which has lightweight timber sides 4.5cm thick, and which are painted white. The overall effect is of a dramatic but peaceful scene in very harmonious colours. The painting is finished with three coats of archival varnish and is ready to hang.

This original water-based oil painting is a very soothing and lustrous painting. The poppy flowers glow out of a rich dark background. It is painted on a primed timber circular panel and is finished with three layers of archival varnish. It is signed on the back so as not to distract the observer, and has a sturdy hanging wire on the top of the back so that it will hang with the correct orientation. The colours are beautiful and it will hang harmoniously in any decor.

This abstract is all about celebrating the wonderful process of painting with all the beautiful colours, the many techniques and materials available to an artist these days. I’m sure the old masters would be in their element today with the wonderful array of choices we have. I have aimed for something harmonious and colourful which will hopefully give the viewer a feeling of hope and happiness.

This abstract is about the journey rather than the achievement. So much in life always seems just out of reach, but I feel that most things are possible if you try hard enough and realise that it takes time to get there and to try and enjoy the process. This is about the patience required to reach your goal and the enjoyment you should have getting there.
