As a self-taught neurodiverse artist, creation has always been a fundamental necessity for me. It began with writing and imagining, and has evolved into expressing myself through colours on a canvas. The interplay of vibrant hues, shimmering gold, and the very act of bringing art to life serves as a powerful antidote to anxiety and depression. I particularly enjoy painting elements of my heritage: strong women, black identity, golden halos, music, and the rich tapestry of my Afro-Caribbean origins.
My typical creative journey begins with a need for visuals – a drawing, a photograph, or even a compelling phrase can spark an idea. I find great joy in doodling, allowing my markers to guide the initial stages of exploration. This free-flowing process translates directly to the canvas, where similar expressions emerge. The culmination of this work is often marked by a moment of quiet contemplation, a gentle squint, and ultimately, a profound feeling of satisfaction.

Purchasing from Yahaira Reyes:
Within Ireland: Small items cost about €3 to €20; medium to large paintings range from €20 to €74; extra-large or heavy framed pieces range from €75 to €200.
UK and Europe: Small to medium works cost roughly €20 to €60; large and extra-large pieces range from €85 to €300 via known couriers.
USA, Canada, and the rest of the world: Standard international shipping for framed or large paintings typically starts at around €40 to €100, and can escalate past €300 depending on dimensions and weight.
I ship artworks within a week after they've sold. In general, I aim to ship works within 2 working days after payment is processed.
I offer framing on smaller artworks, e.g. within sizes 18cm to 40cm, height and width.
On bigger artworks, I secure the back of the stretched canvas to protect the artwork. All canvases are shipped ready to hang.
