Katherine Spiller
Katherine is a Queensland based artist who studied fine arts and art history at Elam School of Fine Arts at Auckland University, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. Following this, Katherine managed art galleries in the UK and New Zealand, before moving to Sydney where she worked for Sculpture by the Sea in Sydney and Perth, which included curation of the indoor sculpture show.
Katherine’s works are held in collections across Australia and overseas.

This large abstract floral painting is part of a series designed to evoke the feeling of floating with nature. Through flowing petals that dance and play, the work invites the viewer to experience a sense of lightness, as if drifting effortlessly through a lush, blooming landscape. The interplay of light and dark in the piece reflects the changing seasons, capturing nature’s rhythm and its response to transformation.
The contrast between these elements evokes both the soft bloom of spring and the subtle fading of autumn, suggesting the cyclical nature of life. The green palette symbolizes growth, vitality and harmony, while the ethereal petals convey a romantic energy, as if nature itself is in a constant state of delicate movement. In this work, I aim to create an immersive experience, one that encourages the viewer to surrender to the beauty of nature's ever-evolving embrace.
