“Wipeout” carries me through the vortex of swirling waves as the layers of blue water rush overhead. This sensation of floating has been recreated through the dynamic mark of the brush. This aerial design was inspired by the formations of rock pools I explored along the bay during summer. I recall seeing stacked stones awash with a mossy surface that glistened in the light, whilst bubbles rose and burst in tandem. Gestural brushstrokes and textural detail capture my memory of moving through this space feeling the water rise up to wrap around me.

I recreate spaces that I have travelled through in patches of colour and dappled light, it is a reimagined vision derived from moving within a physical space. My brushstrokes trace my movements and I can see again vibrant colour flooding across the space when sky and sea become one, this is "Avalon".
